Taking
advantage of the Texas Holdem poker craze, the Orpheum Theatre in
Foxboro is planning a terrific night for all those who love a good
game and for those who are stuck for a great gift for Father's Day.
"In the past,
we've held an annual fundraiser in the form of an auction. We
thought we would change that up a bit this year by offering a
different sort of event to benefit our nonprofit theatre," says Bill
Cunningham, the Orpheum's Executive Director. "Although we had a
stunning season with great shows and full houses, ticket sales only
account for half of the $600,000 needed each year to operate the
Orpheum. This is a very important event for the continued existence
of the theatre.
The No
Limit Texas Holdem Poker Game will be held Friday, June 17, 7 p.m.
at the Lafayette House Restaurant, Route 1 in Foxboro. The cost is
$200 to play with the winner taking home $3,000, second prize $1,500
and third prize $750. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit Orpheum
Theatre.
