Turning Stone sends players to World Series of Poker |
| They've conquered the poker tables at the Turning Stone, now they're off to try their luck in Vegas. Four card sharks from the Mohawk Valley won seats in the World Series of Poker next month at Binion's Horseshoe Casino. Two others are headed to the World Poker Tour next week at the Bellagio for a chance at one million dollars, including Tom Chin from Whitesboro. "Only in America you play a year and a half or less and you get a chance to play against all the world's best and the movie stars and the rich," Tom Chin said, he is headed to Las Vegas. "Overall, we had over the two month period, 641 players enter the satellite to make it to the world series of poker. And we ended up crowning four champions out of those 641 players," Poker Room Manager Jason DiBenedetto said. The
Turning Stone is picking up travel costs for the players, as well as
covering their entry costs, which range from ten to twenty-five thousand
dollars each. |
