Trying to set a Texas Holdem poker playing record |

We have all heard about all night
Texas
Holdem
poker games before, but one man is taking it to the extreme. He's at
Foxwoods trying to break the world record for the longest casino
Texas
Holdem
poker session. It looks like a regular Texas Holdem poker game, but Larry Olmsted is no regular poker player. "I enjoy playing." Olmsted is anteing up an awesome task; play poker non-stop for 72 hours. If he bets right, he'll cash his chips in the Guinness Book of World Records. "What do you to prepare for this?" Guinness's rules are strict: play every hand, one 15 minute break per 8 hours. Meals will be served at the table and a medic is on call at all times. Foxwoods is watching too, to make sure he doesn't slack off. "Every four hours we're signing off that he indeed was at a table playing poker, not nodding," says Kathy Raymond. "What kind of obstacles are in your way when you play 72 hours of
poker?" Instead of lucky charms, he's got support from friends like Matthew Rosenthal. "So is it your job when you see him nodding off, to give him a swift
kick under the table?" And with the poker room full of players ready to beat the odds, Larry's looking to beat the clock. Of course, he'll have to have the cards on his side if he's gonna make it. Olmsted began his run at 1:00 p.m. You can see him play or even play against him until Sunday at 1:00 p.m. |
