SunPoker Takes to the Streets of Las Vegas

There's a new poker room in Las Vegas, but its address is virtual. SunPoker has launched an advertising campaign this week in the gaming capital of the world, yet the poker players they're targeting live all across the globe.

Positioned on Paradise Blvd. just 100 feet before the entrance to the Las Vegas airport, SunPoker has planted a huge 14 by 48 foot billboard reading, "Next time, play from home. SunPoker".

In addition to being seen by people heading out of town through the airport, those heading south on I-15 will be hit by another two billboards using a clever play on the popular phrase, "What happens in Vegas...now happens at home. SunPoker".

"Playing poker online has become incredibly popular amid all the television coverage lately," says Nick Melrose, Poker Room Manager at SunPoker, "and the campaign was intended to let people know they can have fun by learning to play poker in a real setting with other players from around the world, without feeling intimidated by sitting with them face-to-face."

The SunPoker software allows you to play and chat with other players from around the world, while playing in Texas Hold'em tournaments like you see on the World Poker Tour and in the World Series of Poker.

"We are not looking to take any business away from the land based casinos and poker rooms of the world, in fact, this campaign will simply let people know that they can now participate from the comfort and security of their own homes, which ultimately stimulates the poker industry," added Melrose.

A licensed poker room through Peak Entertainment N.V., SunPoker has thousands of players from all over the world that participate in a fun friendly environment playing Texas Holdem, Seven Card Stud, Omaha High-Low, and hundreds of tournaments each week, including Multi-Table tournaments.
