Texas Holdem Poker
Texas:
I played my first game in a Casino only the other week, i'm really new to Hold'em too. The first thing I'd say is: Don't be nervious. Maybe just go in and watch for a little while, get the feel of the place. I watched for a couple of hours before i jumped in to a low limit game. The game is played at a fair pace but nothing too fast and the House Dealers are really helpfull. Just go out and enjoy yourself that's the main thing. If you win (i did on my first time) then great, if you loose a little then thats ok too. One more thing - if your sat at a table with a guy called B.C. then watch him - he's a crafty one!!
There was a link in the "success and failures" thread to a 99 dollar texas hold'em cyber book or lesson called the raiser's edge. Has anyone tried it? I am always interested in learning something new about hold'em.
In Hold-Em the first person to the left of the dealer posts the small blind, and the person to the left of him posts the big blind. In the first round of betting (before the flop), the person to the left of the big blind, or three left of the dealer (button) acts first. In every other round, the first person to the left of the dealer (small blind) acts first. It stays this way the entire time regardless of how many players. Its a little different when it is down to heads up. The button posts the small blind and is also the first to act.
question, how are the blinds and dealing done when there are fewer players, who has to put in what amount of blinds and who gets dealt first in texas hold' em.
